The only people who achieve much are those who want knowledge so badly that they seek it while the conditions are still unfavourable. Favourable conditions never come.

C.S. Lewis

Our Objective

is to provide excellent training for those aspiring to leadership in a Christian ministry context. It is our intention that this training will be as practically relevant as possible so that it can be directly applied to real life ministry.

Proven Leaders

will share from the wealth of their own experience and expertise. We have deliberately selected those who have been significantly fruitful in their specific fields in order to give you the opportunity to engage with highly effective leaders. We have chosen those whose character has been consistent over many years because reputation is no substitute for reality.

The Emphasis

will be on the supremacy of the Scripture as the foundation for all that we seek to teach. There will also be a strong emphasis on the importance of being full of the Holy Spirit and living in vital relationship with him.

The Environment

may be unique. You will be training in a place where people whose lives have been devastated by addiction are being transformed by the power of God. Those who have been forgiven much love much so there is something of a “hothouse” spiritual atmosphere. In addition to this you will be training in a situation where street work among the most marginalised is happening regularly and you will be training in the context of a pioneer church plant in an inner city area.

Opportunities

will be sought to place those who train with us so they can begin ministering within their chosen field and we will offer ongoing mentoring and support to those pursuing ministry. Former students have gone on to serve in Africa, the Far East, North America, Eastern Europe as well as throughout the UK

  • When I was 18 I went to (TCLA). This was a great experience for me, I learnt what it meant to sacrifice and focus on God. As well as learning more about the Bible and what it means to walk with God, I also learned how to relate to people. From this course I have gone on to do youth work and I am now a youth worker in my local church. I will always be grateful to Teen Challenge for teaching me so much and setting me up in ministry. image Lee Whitmore Youth Worker, Stirchley Elim Church
  • I remember my time at (TCLA) as time of great equipping. The teaching I had there has stuck with me throughout my journey. We had some amazing teachers and leaders sharing their experience and I was always challenged never to sell myself short but always to pursue the call of God on my life. It was a great time of preparation and equipped me for the amazing work I am now involved in. image Paul Innes Prison & Schools Worker
